Our volunteer needs
Planning the event
We are re-introducing the #planning channel from the “OG” days of WPCampus conference life to have open planning, discussions, and contributions.
We’d love for you to join the #planning channel if you want to hear about event planning, contribute feedback, or maybe help with tasks.
Anyone is welcome to participate in the #planning channel discussions. We appreciate your knowledge, time, and feedback.
No compensation or complementary tickets are provided to those participating in the channel.
Room Hosts
For this year’s event, we are looking for four room hosts (1-2 for each room).
We need volunteers who are willing to participate as Room Hosts for a specific room for the entirety of Thursday and Friday. Having continuity helps the event to run smoother.
We understand that we are asking you to attend only one room for the entire event. We will provide each room host with one complimentary (free) conference ticket, our gratitude, and a unique WPCampus swag item.
You must attend 1-2 training Zoom sessions before the event.
Your event duties will include:
- Set the presenter up for success
- Announce the presenter
- Make sure the online stream is working
- Moderate any Q&A
- Make sure the session ends on time
Registration table
We will need 2-3 volunteers to run the registration table on Wednesday and Thursday morning.
Your duties will include checking in attendees, providing their badge and shirt, and being present to answer questions.
Volunteers for this role will receive our gratitude and a unique WPCampus swag item. If you’re around on Wednesday, you will receive a complementary lunch.
Pre-conference move-in and setup
On the morning of Wednesday, July 23, we will need around five volunteers to help with conference move-in and setup.
If you’re gonna be in town and want to help out, we’d love to have you. This usually ends up being a bunch of friends (new and old) hanging out and doing minor tasks.
Volunteers for this role will receive our gratitude, a complementary lunch, and a unique WPCampus swag item.
Post-conference move-out
At the end of the day on Friday, July 25, we will need volunteers to help move our inventory out of the venue. This task usually takes around an hour.
